Dirty rotten non-April Fool's Day joke

K 102 morning show is dumb. (Please excuse my "naughty" word as Olivia would say). I am sorry for any fans out there but I am very unhappy with them today.

I woke up this morning so excited for Twin's opener tonight. I put on my MN Twin's t-shirt and anxiously awaited the opening game which starts pretty soon. I couldn't wait to see my favorite player Justin Morneau back in action tonight.

So, this morning I am driving to work and for some reason I have K102 morning show on...bad idea.

They announce that the Twin's traded Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer to the Mets and got Santana back. While I would have loved to have Santana back, I was crushed that the "M & M" boys were leaving. I frantically called Richie who assured me it was not true. That wasn't enough for me. I called Putter. Even when he was half asleep, he still knew better and assured me it was untrue. Finally, the K102 morning crew admitted it was all an "April Fool's Day joke".

It's March 31?????

I did call K102. But, they did not asnwer. You just don't do this to a Twin's fan on opening day. What a bad idea! Now, I am going to go watch the game. Go Twin's!!

Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer (http://www.joycemeyer.org/) has been so instrumental in my walk with God (along with family members). Days when I wake up early enough to watch her on tv and read the Bible are just different that any other ordinary day. I can't explain it but I just have a peace throughout the day that is like no other. Last night as I was praying about Richie looking for work (The plant he was working at in Ramsey got shut down while he was working in KS), I kept praying for peace in our hearts. Peace regarding his work, peace regarding our finances, peace about so many different things we worry about. I wake up to this devotion by Joyce Meyer. God's timing is so perfect.

Petition with Thanksgiving

March 27

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 4:7

NOTE: I looked up the definition of "Tranquil" and it means...placid: (of a body of water) free from disturbance by heavy waves. I pray that your hearts will be free from disturbance by heavy waves. (I know I can't pray away disturbances altogether, shoot!) The rest is from Joyce...

We can petition the Lord for things we need every morning. God’s Word tells us to lay our requests before Him: “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God” (Philippians 4:6).

But don’t spend all your time with God petitioning for things. You are out of balance if your petitions outweigh your praise and thanksgiving. A heart full of thankfulness will make any day better. From the book Starting Your Day Right: Devotions for Each Morning of the Year by Joyce Meyer.

FYI

I go by "Kay" at Simonson's because there is another Mary. For booking purposes, they had me come up with a new name, so I chose my middle name. If you book an appointment, you'll have to ask for Kay not Mary or you'll get a different Mary.

Phili's big day at the office

I don't know if you know this about Philip but he loves when people love him....if that makes sense =) He's quite the charmer. He can be in a crabby mood for me but as soon as we are in public and he sees people oohing and awwing over him he totally plays up the cute card. Here he is at my dad and Mitch's work. Doesn't he look like a mini-Mitch!?

By the way...

Since my cell phone is cheap & crappy, I had to use a payphone at Target the other day. Not only does the thought of using a public phone repulse me because so many dirty hands have touched it, somebody did their "business" in the bathroom right next to it so I was beyond disgusted and literally gagging before I even made my call. Philip was also trying to shove the phone cord in his mouth the whole time which is also nasty. I put in 35 cents only to be told it is no longer only 35 cents, but a whopping 50 cents. I only had 35 cents in change so I noticed that you can use credit cards. I thought, why not. It says insert card yadda yadda yadda, enter every piece of information regarding your card yadda yadda yadda....so I did and after about 5 minutes of this nonsense, I called my husband who didn't answer. This was when he was on his way home from Kansas and I had to meet him so it was very inportant that I get a hold of him. That is why I proceeded to call him 2 more times and go through the same credit card information process as well (knowing he was driving and for some reason NOT answering my calls?). Anyways, I check my credit card statement and those 3 agonizing phonecalls costs me not 50 cents per call but....are you ready....$17.00 per call. That means it costs me $51.00 to hold back my vomit for five minutes, touch a dirty payphone only to have a husband not answer my phonecalls.

Am I mad at the credit card company? Yes, but not as mad as I am at my husband for not answering his cell phone! :P

Moral of the story...

Husbands-Answer your wife's phone call.
Everyone else-don't use a credit card on a payphone.

P.S.

My cell phone is broken so if anyone has tried to call/text me, that is why I haven't responded. You'll have to get a hold of me at home if you need me!

I passed!

I start working tomorrow. I am certified in cutting and coloring. Thanks so much to mom and Lindsay for being my hair models!

After I got home from testing, Richie said he had to run over to Mamie and Dans to pick something up so I went with him. To my suprise, my family had all gone over there to suprise me with a cake and pizza party for passing certification! I had so much fun. Thanks guys!

On a completely different note....Richie and I were just watching A Baby Story and a woman was having contractions and he said he knew what they felt like because sometimes he wakes up with...get this...LEG CRAMPS! Anyone who has been in labor can understand how absurd this comparision is! Men....

Time to update

Sorry I haven't updated lately! Richie is now living back in MN where he belongs and I am loving being together as a family! I've been in training a lot at Simonson's the past few weeks. I have my certifications tests tomorrow so wish me luck! Phili has his first tooth which is very exciting except for when the little bugger bites me. He is rolling over and sitting up and eating a lot like his daddy. He has been so cheerful since Richie has been home. he's definetely a daddy's boy. I will have Richie put some pictures up of him later. People are starting to say he looks more like me now (some say it's his chubby cheecks =)

My wonderful cousin Rachel is pregnant after 2+ years of having trouble conceiving. I am ecstatic for her and her sweet hubby Joey. It has been an emotional roller coaster for them and I praise God everyday for where they are at. (It has also been very time consuming checking her blog multiple times a day! Just kidding). It really has consumed my thoughts and we are all rejoicing with them as they celebrate this wonderful time.

I am still loving being a nanny for my best friend Julie's kids. I love them like they're my nieces and nephew. They bring so much joy to my days. Liam has a tender heart and Carys has a spunky personality. Aurora is in school during the day so I don't watch her but she's a very sweet, kind girl. I am so blessed to be where I am at.

I will try and remember to have Richie put some pictures up later tonight. I'm not too computer savvy! Thanks for reading.

Fun!! (for the ladies)

Ever wondered what you'd look like as a red head, or say a short blonde bob? How about some long luxurious dark curls? Do you have a hairstyle in mind but you just don't know how it would look on you? I think you ladies will all really enjoy this. Click on the link below and you can see what hairstyles/colors work best with your face frame and skin tone. This is the first site I'eve ever found that lets you do this for free. Some salons charge 50+ dollars to do what this site does. I've definetely discovered what doesn't work with my skin tone! If you can, post which hairstyle/color you like best and which one just ain't working for ya girlfriend. I will when I find mine! Enjoy!! Here is one YES for me and one NO WAY! Can you guess which one I like?

More models needed

Thanks to all who emailed me about the training in Plymouth. I believe I am covered for the 20th. I do still need people for the Elk River location if you're interested. I will be there the next two Thursdays, so if you need a color, foil, cut or eyebrow wax, let me know if anytime after 4 works for you. Since it's part of my training, it will be FREE...Wahoo for free stuff!

Would you like to be a hair "model"?

If you're interested, on Thursday March 20th between 10 and 4, I need to get certified in hair color and cutting through Simonson's. If you are in need of a cut & color, please email me! Thanks. P.S. It would be at the Simonson's training center which is in Plymouth and your cut/color would be free!

Missing my hubby

Richie left to go back down to KS today. I am feeling sadder than usual. I cought the flu bug so I've been sick all weekend. I can't nurse Phili because of the meds I'm on and it is breakiing my heart. He keeps trying to nurse and he cries so hard (so do I) when I can't do it for him. I realize now how Richie was so much help. I am really missing him right now. My wonderful sister Mamie took Phili for a few hours today so I could get some rest (and puke!). I'm feeling a little bit better but my heart is still sad. He'll be home for good in a few weeks and I cannot tell you how excited I am. I kind of complained to him earlier this week about being so messy when he's home and how hard it was to take care of him (he had bronchitis and pneumonia), real nice wife, huh? When it was his turn to take care of me and Phili (he has a virus & ear infection) he didn't complain once. He just lovingly did it without a complaint. I guess I could learn something from him!
